Merry Christmas from iTunes On Sale!

I thought I’d take five minutes to wish all the readers of iTunes on Sale a very merry and safe Christmas today! I hope that I’ve managed to save you a few dollars this year and put it to good use.

I am constantly and pleasantly surprised by all the kind words I get emailed and posted in the comments about how much you appreciate the site. It means a lot to me that you appreciate what I do here. I’ll keep doing it as long as you keep reading it and help by spreading the word.

An extra hat tip to all the people who reported specials to me this year. Without you, we wouldn’t get all of them listed!!

I won’t bore you with too many details (I’ll save that for my year in review next week), but traffic and activity on the site continues to grow and grow. On the 20/12 (and pretty much every day since) we had our first 1,000+ unique visitors to the site in one day! And that doesn’t include those who just subscribe to the emails or use the Calendar, RSS, Facebook or Twitter feed! I was happily surprised when I received a notification from my host saying I was nearly over traffic quota!

So eat, drink and be merry today and here’s to 2011!

Hey Rowan, it should do since everyone's browser can now pull down the jquery script while grabbing everything else from your site in parallel to it. That script is also hosted everywhere round the world really close to the users as well. http://developer.yahoo.com/performance/rules.html#cdn

@Anthony - Thanks for the nice thought, but it's not necessary. The cost of the hosting is all covered and it doesn't cost me anything to run the site except for my time. You can show your support by spreading the word about the site. That will mean quicker notification of specials, etc. :)

Thanks Drew, I installed that plugin. We'll see how it goes. Site seems to load faster which is nice. I could be imagining it though :)

Further to previous comment, it might be easier to just use the "Use Google Libraries" wordpress plugin to get jquery from the google CDN.

May I suggest that for every iTunes credit savings We get from this site, we donate $1 to this site, on a voluntary basis? This is to ensure sustainability and help you out. What do others say?
